You have played important roles in supporting our students throughout their journeys at UMBC, and we hope you will join us in celebrating graduates and their families at the Spring ceremonies.
Please register to participate in the ceremony procession(s) here. Faculty and staff who wish to participate in the ceremony procession(s) are required to wear academic regalia. You may wear your own regalia or place an order to rent regalia here by April 26 to avoid late fees. You will be able to pick it up from the UMBC Bookstore around May 16.

Arrival Information
- Please arrive one hour prior to the ceremony start time to begin procession line up and robing.
- Plan for heavy traffic on campus.
- Follow posted signs to the Faculty/Staff entrance; first floor entrance on the right side of the building.
- After you have checked in, volunteers will direct you to your robing room and into procession line up.
- We recommend that you limit the personal items you bring to the Arena.
Livestream & Photography
The ceremony will be streamed live for those who cannot attend in person. You can find the link to stream the ceremony the day of Commencement on our Homepage. The recording will be stored on the UMBC YouTube page after the event.
You are welcome to exit your seat to quickly congratulate students after they cross the stage. Please be considerate in not blocking the path of the procession.
Additional Information will be sent out via email to procession participants and Event Staff prior to the event.
